Maring Hunt Library: Community Garden Pavilion
|
Spring 2018
Community BuiltThe Maring-Hunt Library Community Garden Pavilions are an ongoing project with professor Pam Harwood's studio, the community, and Maring Hunt Library. Each semester, the student's along with the community charette, design, and cooperatively build each new segment. Many of the shelters transform into multiple uses providing a shade structure, tool storage, wash basins, market stall for selling produce, an outdoor demonstration kitchen, puppet show theater, community pin up board and display case, outdoor classroom, and childrens nature-play areas. The working together of both the community and the classroom has lead to new ideas never thought of, evolving the project into a much richer dialogue and bridge builder between the community.
